“Buying our new family home was never going to be an easy task. Our almost three year search finally came to an end when we recently purchased our new home from Gabe and Kelly Kolak of Kolak Living.

When we first came to view this house we felt 'at home'. I think that was from both the aesthetic of the home but also how the Kolak's presented the home to us, not once making us feel pressured to make any hasty decisions. The attention to detail and the design and layout truly has family at its heart. All our dealings with the Kolak's then became a true family affair as our children would accompany us to the inspections – we really got a true sense of who we were dealing with.

The home

Both pleasing to the eye and extremely functional, our five-bedroom Kolak Living home we feel was built with family at it’s heart. From the huge kitchen island bench to the separate (but free-flowing) living areas,  the logical placement of the carpets in the family room and generally, the sheer size of all the rooms – the home ticked all our boxes to accommodate our two growing boys. That the home was built on the block to maximise its corner street frontage AND had a proper backyard – truly a surprise especially for a new-build home. We had initially discounted ‘brand new’ on our search list as the homes we had seen to date did not give decent backyard and outside room – the top priority as part of our search. The Kolak Living home changed all those preconceptions and we’re so glad we took the chance to inspect the home.

The attention to detail in the choice of fittings to the workmanship, we have again been very pleased with. Plenty of storage throughout the home but without feeling overwhelmed. There are also the smaller touches like the soft-close toilets and the recessed walls in both the family and lounge room – all of which may seem small in detail but certainly do not go unnoticed.

The sale and aftercare

The one thing that has been consistent throughout the entire process (from inspections to negotiations to the aftercare now that we are in our home) has been the open communication.

Both my husband and I have really appreciated the transparency of conversations between the Kolak's. All of our questions or concerns were answered almost immediately. That these conversations have not stopped once contracts were exchanged has really been a lovely personal touch I’m not sure you would get from other builders. We certainly were not expecting the ‘after care’ especially as the home was already completed.

Whilst we have no future plans to move, we would have no hesitation in recommending Kolak Living. If you are after a true family home with functional family living at the heart of the design, combined with high-end finishes, Gabe and Kelly are the people to talk to. Our ‘forever family home’ is testament to that.”
